TeraBox on iPhone: What Works and What Does Not

TeraBox works on iPhone, but there is one specific limitation worth knowing before you rely on it for shared videos.

System requirements

The App Store listing requires iOS 15.0 or later for iPhone and iPod touch, and iPadOS 15.0 or later for iPad. The same listing also shows a Mac build (macOS 10.14 or later) and an Apple Vision build (visionOS 1.0 or later), so the same account works across an iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro.

The limitation: saving a video to your phone

This is the part iPhone users hit most often. An official TeraBox post said that saving a video to the phone's own gallery, what TeraBox calls "Download to local", works only on Android, and that iOS users cannot do this the same way. That post is from May 2024, and we could not confirm whether this is still the case now, but it lines up with independent reports: an App Store reviewer specifically describes not having a "save to photos" or "save to files" option on iPhone.

In practice, this means: playing a TeraBox video on iPhone through the app works, but pulling a permanent copy into your own Photos library the way you would on Android is the part that is limited or missing.

A browser-based way around it

Because the save limitation is specific to the TeraBox app's own gallery-export feature, opening a share link in a browser sidesteps it entirely, since the download happens through the browser's own download system rather than the app. That is one of the reasons a tool like iTeraPlay is useful on iPhone specifically: paste the link, and press Download to save the file through Safari's normal download flow rather than depending on the TeraBox app's own gallery integration.

Everything else works the same

Aside from that one save limitation, the features covered elsewhere on this site, such as the 480p free playback limit and the free-account download throttle, apply identically on iPhone as on any other device. None of it is iOS-specific.
