Does TeraBox Work on Windows, Mac and Linux

Short answer: yes, TeraBox has desktop apps for all three major operating systems, and you do not need any of them just to open a shared link.

Official desktop support

A December 2024 press release from Flextech, TeraBox's operator, lists client apps for Android, iOS, Linux, Mac and Windows, alongside web access at terabox.com. Linux is offered from the Download menu on the TeraBox website and its PC download page. An older review claiming the desktop client was Windows-only is now out of date, contradicted by both the 2024 press release and the current App Store listing showing a Mac build.

You do not need any of them to watch a shared video

All of that is about the full TeraBox client, for managing your own account and files. If someone has sent you a share link and you just want to watch or download that one video, none of it is required. TeraBox's own Terms note that an account may be needed to access some parts of the service, but a share link is designed to be opened by anyone, and a plain browser is enough on Windows, Mac or Linux alike.

Using a browser instead of installing anything

If you would rather not install the desktop client at all, paste the share link into iTeraPlay from any of the three operating systems. It plays in the browser the same way regardless of Windows, Mac or Linux, since none of it depends on the TeraBox desktop app being present.

What differs between the desktop client and a browser tool

The full TeraBox desktop client also handles uploading, organizing your own files, and account-level features like automatic backup, none of which a link-opening tool like iTeraPlay does or needs to. If you are managing your own TeraBox storage day to day, the desktop client is the right tool. If you only need to open a link someone sent you, a browser is simpler.
